Thaddeus Dubiel Obituary

Bedford – Thaddeus Alexander “Ted” Dubiel 84, formally of Middleton, passed away on March 8, 2024, at the David James Hospice Unit of the Veterans Hospital in Bedford after a long battle with illness.

Born in Salem on July 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Thaddeus A. and Alice J. (Czerniawska) Dubiel. He was raised and educated in Salem, graduating from St. John the Baptist Grammar School and Salem High School before enlisting in the Army on August 31, 1956, where rose to the rank of SP4 before his honorable discharge on August 28, 1959. He later attended school for mechanical engineering while he started his career.

Ted was a mechanical engineer designing cabs for many pieces of industrial machinery at Industrial Cab of Essex, Ma and later at Caterpillar in Indiana.

Faithful to his religion, he was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Salem for many years before moving to Middleton where he attended St. Agnes Parish. Ted was an avid sports fan, hardly missing watching a Patriots game and watching many Red Sox games, along with attending a couple of Indy 500 races. He liked spending time with friends and family and, after retiring, relaxing and working on his many word puzzles and watching his favorite sports teams faithfully.

Thaddeus is survived by his children; Laura Dubiel of Danvers, Marc Dubiel and his wife Denise of Wakefield, Barbara Jean and her husband Robert of Peabody, and Nancy Dubiel of Florida, along with his grandchildren Nicholas Jean, Alexander Jean, Katelyn Dubiel, Jake Dubiel, and Taylor Dubiel. He is preceded in death by his former wife Jacqueline Dubiel, and his siblings Steven Dubiel and John Dubiel.
