Christopher Wood Obituary

BOXFORD – Mr. Christopher A. Wood, 67 of Boxford, loving partner of Katherina Mena, passed away on Monday, March 11th, 2024 following a valiant battle with cancer.

Born in Salem, Christopher was the son of the late Norman S. Wood, D.M.D. and Martha (Aulson) Wood. He also received much love and affection from his "second mother," Phyllis (Hourihan) Wood. He was raised in Beverly Farms, attended parochial school in Andover at Sacred Heart and was a graduate of Beverly High School. Chris continued his education at North Shore Community College and the University of Alaska Anchorage where he earned his bachelor’s degree.

As a young man, Chris excelled in scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. In his adulthood he earned his pilot’s license and owned his own single engine airplane. Both of these accomplishments he was truly proud of.

An honorably discharged veteran, Chris proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, earning the rank of Specialist 5.

At a young age, Chris involved himself within his community and had a natural drive to help and lead others. A successful entrepreneur with an innate aptitude for business success, Mr. Wood excelled in various professional ventures. This passion for others allowed him to excel in various commercial avenues including law, marketing and entrepreneurship. First starting his career as a paralegal for Ed Holzberg, Chris loved advising, being a trailblazer and facilitating others success. He was also the founder of an international marketing company that employed local people. His business acumen propelled him to the role as a high-level executive and professional coach where he guided CEO’s, entrepreneurs, lawyers and heritage business owners. His business industry insights were lauded throughout the northeastern United States as he had success in retail, fashion, advertising and real-estate. He took great pride in being a mentor to many, especially succeeding alongside his partner, Katherina and her business, Glitterati Style Inc. which is the foremost women’s style boutique in New England.

Always thinking of others, Chris was very generous with his time. He loved supporting his community, cheering on all teams and supporting various charities. As a business professional, Chris served on the North Shore Business Council and for many years assisted as a judge for numerous pageants. He was a loving partner, who dotted on his beloved Katherina. Above all else, Chris was an exceptionally proud and devoted father whose greatest pride was his son. He had a servant’s heart, made of gold, that he shared generously with others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his partner of 22 years, Katherina Mena, Christopher is survived by his son, Christopher Wood; sisters, Jennifer Wood Hinkle and Roseanne Wood Arseneau; brothers, Michael Wood, Paul Wood and Donald Wood and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends and the many mentees he helped throughout his years.
